Islamic Development Bank Delegation Visits Projects Financed by Uzbek Leasing International A.O. in Samarkand
On August 19, 2025, as part of the Country Engagement Assessment Mission of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) in Uzbekistan, the Bank’s representatives visited several successfully implemented projects of Uzbek Leasing International A.O. in Samarkand. These projects were financed through credit lines provided by the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD), a member of the IsDB Group.

The purpose of the mission is to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of projects, including site visits, data collection, and discussions on the implementation process and achieved results with the participation of key staff, beneficiaries, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders. This approach ensures a result-oriented and thorough evaluation process, aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of the IsDB Group’s activities in Uzbekistan. The mission also includes visits to different regions of the country where projects are located.
Earlier, on July 3, 2025, the IsDB delegation visited (
https://t.me/uzleasing/2999) the head office of Uzbek Leasing International A.O. in Tashkent. During the meeting, the parties discussed the outcomes of cooperation with ICD and the efficiency of utilizing the attracted credit resources.
In Samarkand, the IsDB delegation was accompanied by the regional representative of Uzbek Leasing International A.O. — Sukhrob Vafokulov. During the visit, the Bank’s representatives got acquainted with the activities of clients supported through Islamic finance instruments under Ijara and Murabaha products:
— Sogda Zafarshon Suv Qurilish — leasing of a concrete pump truck;
— Kelajak Batabek Servis — leasing of equipment for cardboard box production.
Since 2008, thanks to successful cooperation with ICD, our company has attracted four credit lines totaling USD 28 million. Moreover, a fifth credit line of USD 5 million from ICD is expected, which will be directed towards the development of Islamic finance products.
