History
In the early years of independence of the Republic, in the early 1990s, for the purpose of further development of the financial services market, the National Bank of Uzbekistan initiated the establishment of a leasing company. The Government of the Republic supported this initiative and it caused interest of global major international financial institutions. As a result, International Company “Uzbek Leasing International” JSC with participation of foreign capital was established in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan # 6 dated January 5, 1995.

At present, the amount of Authorized Capital is 17,259,943,906 sums.
As the initiator of establishment of the Company, NBU is constantly supporting the Company’s operations. In addition to the investments towards the Authorized Capital, with the aim to develop and extend the activities of “Uzbek Leasing International” JSC, the NBU provided a revolving credit line in the national currency equivalent to USD 10,000,000 at the rate of Central Bank of Uzbekistan as of the day of withdrawal. Besides, the Company uses foreign credit lines signed in conjunction with the NBU.
Since its beginning of its activities in 2001, the management of Company was transferred the to the Maybank and this has allowed the Company to use the Maybank’s experience in implementing leasing operations, to train local staff how to prepare and implement leasing projects in accordance with international standards. As a result, since the establishment, the Company has significantly expanded the range of leasing services offered and provides financial and leasing services at the level of international standards.
The operations are financed both at the expense of shareholders, the Company's own funds and the credit lines provided by international investors, such as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, International Finance Corporation, the Malaysian Bank (Maybank), Islamic Corporation for Development of Private Sector (ICD), and credit lines of local banks: NBU, “Asaka” SJACB and UzKDB, as well as at the expense of loans provided by major equipment suppliers.
Uzbek Leasing International JSC is a unique example of use by the leasing company of modern technology for management, financing and marketing that allows us to actively build up the customer base. At the same time, our principle of full transparency allows attracting long-term financing, provided both by the international financial institutions and local banks.
Since the beginning of activity up to these days, the Company's portfolio includes more than 2300 leasing projects. On all projects implemented in almost all regions of the Republic, the production of industrial and consumer goods is up and running.
As the growth of “Uzbek
Leasing International” JSC, the Company's customers grow too, the spectrum of
sectors financed is expanding and geographical coverage is increasing. From 2005
to the present, we opened eight regional representative offices throughout the
country. In 2005, the representative office was opened in Samarkand Province. Since
2009, the representative offices of “Uzbek Leasing International” JSC started
working in the Khorezm Province and in the Ferghana Valley. In 2010, offices in
Bukhara, Navoi Provinces and Karakalpakstan started their operations. In 2012, the
representative office was opened in Kashkadarya Province. In 2017 in Jizzakh and Sirdarya provinces, and in 2018 in Andijan, Fergana and Surhandarya provinces representative offices were opened.
