On April 26, 2024, a meeting was held between JSC “Uzbek Leasing International A.O.” and consultants of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) under the Women in Business program
On negotiations the details of cooperation for disbursement of the EBRD’s facility under the Women in Business (CA WiB) program to Uzbek Leasing International A.O. were discussed, the agreed EBRD’s benchmarks for technical support were considered, and the consultants started the process of basic analysis with the employees of the Marketing Department, the Project Finance Department and the Express Leasing Department of the leasing company.
Generally, the objectives of the Women in Business Program (CA WiB) are to improve businesswomen’s access to finance a sustainable growth and job creation, develop sustainable credit and leasing mechanisms that take into account the needs of women, increase the sustainability of women’s businesses through their access to non-financial services and business contacts, and create a favorable regulatory framework for women’s businesses.
The Objectives are achieved through such components of the Program as targeted financing by the EBRD of partner organizations, including JSC «Uzbek Leasing International A.O.», their technical support by EBRD consultants, as well as organization of package of measures for women in training, skills development, consultations, mentoring and development of business contacts, etc.
Within the framework of this Program, JSC «Uzbek Leasing International A.O." will receive technical support from consultants — Deutsche Sparkassenstiftung für internationaleKooperation (German Foundation for International Cooperation) and Internationale Projekt Consult GmbH (IPC GmbH) to improve the conditions for financial (leasing) products and non-financial services for business women.
It should be noted that on March 5, 2024, a signing ceremony was held in Tashkent for a loan agreement under the EBRD Women in Business Program in Central Asia (CA WiB) in the amount of $6 million between the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Uzbek Leasing International A. O. The Women in Business (WiB) Program will support the active participation of women in entrepreneurship, thereby promoting gender equality in access to finance and employment. The amount of financing for a women’s business project per lessee is up to €1 million.
